  • Super Bowl of Guacamole

     Well, the big day is February 3rd.  If you want to go shopping, while he/she is watching the game here’s a super-sized version of  Markdown Mom’s daughter Elise’s guacamole that is bound to get rave reviews and silence any comments about your shopping spree.  Great with chips for the game, or to top those tacos and burritos, and bound to become a favorite in your home.   Great for the playoffs and on Super Bowl Sunday!

      

     Super Bowl of Guacamole 

    Wet Ingredients

    4-6 ripe avocados
    1 tsp. of minced garlic
    1/2 white onion, chopped
    1 medium sized Serrano pepper, seeds removed *
    * may use some of the seeds for extra heat
    1 lime, 2-3 Tbsp. of lime juice
    1 Tbsp. of chopped cilantro
    * may add 1 medium size tomato, seeds removed
     
     
    Dry Ingredients

    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
     
    Method:
    1) Remove avocado skin and seed.  Mash avocado meat in large bowl.
    2) Add garlic, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly.
    3) Chop onion, pepper, cilantro and *tomato and add to avocado mix.
    4) Add lime juice to guacamole and refrigerate 4-24 hr. before eating.
     
    For the perfect chip, use blue corn tortilla chips.
