▪ More Than A Dollar’s Worth At A Dollar Store*
September 13th, 2006 by markdownmom
Dollar Stores* stock a wonderful myriad of items to select from, and you never pay more than a $1, except for some items which are 2/$1. The inventory is usually bought by the franchise in lots of remnants from wholesalers accounting for its high turnover and diversity of items. Part of the excitement of visiting dollar stores on a regular basis is this ever changing merchandise menu.
MDM particularly likes the food aisles because oftentimes you can find those gourmet specials such as pickled white asparagus spears, smoked clams, gourmet chocolate, and slivered garlic in oil, in addition to name brand cake mixes, baking products, and spices. For $1, you can afford to experiment!
Smart Money.com has rated its top 5 Buys at the dollar stores as cleaning supplies, gift wrap, snacks, shampoo, and kitchen accessories.
This is a perfect place to look for those Xmas stocking stuffers especially if you have college students, or relatives setting up house for the first time either in a home, condo, or apartment.
As with any bargain, you must be aware that the degree to which an item is a bargain depends upon its quality, intended purpose, and price. You cannot expect to find professional gourmet cutlery for $1, but you will find useful items you can use everyday at this affordable price.
To find a dollar store nearest you, contact Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, or your yellow pages– it is well worth a visit.
