Mini for Maxi Holiday Entertaining
November 2nd, 2006 by markdownmom
It seems that during the holidays there is simply not enough time nor enough room. Especially with the tree, decorations, and all the goodies we want to display and munch on.
- The buffet table solves several problems:
- You don’t have to worry about seating, which relatives are getting along, which are not–important considerations in a formal sit-down event,
Others can bring specialty dishes sharing the cooking tasks, and
The table becomes a focal part of the holiday decor allowing the guests to mingle. The perfect way to go for holiday entertaining especially if you have additional drop-in guests.
The real challenge comes in trying to make as many items that can be finger foods, including desserts. Appetizers are always a good choice with 3 - 4 hot dishes. But what to do about desserts? Homemade cookies, bars, and candy are certainly appreciated. However, as a spectacular substitute for a large cake, these mini cheesecakes will certainly be the hit of the evening. MDM recommends placing a large tray of these mini cheesecakes accompanied by bowls of toppings and each person can customize his/her cheesecake. Then just sit back and enjoy the compliments for this novel dessert.
At Chef for $24.99 [free shipping until 11/05/06].
