  • Let Them Eat Cake–Cupcakes: MDM’s Tour of the Twin Cities #11

    September 18th, 2007 by markdownmom

The first time MDM tried one of these scrumptious cupcakes with the icing equal to the size of the cake part of the cupcake, for sweet tooths it was like going to heaven!  Creamy, rich and oh so totally decadent!  Cupcake is located near the University of Minnesota campus at 3338 University Avenue, S.E.

Located next to an antique restoration and sales store, this small café caters not only to the cupcake lovers, but the luncheon crowd as well with its’ homemade soups served in a bread bowl.  Although it is difficult with 30 different  types of cupcakes to choose from to save some room for the other goodies they offer.

On the  left side of the restaurant’s interior,  you can watch the bakers and chefs prepare what MDM considers comfort food while you read the paper with your cup of coffee.

You can enjoy the ambiance of the cafe with its’ high ceilings and wonderful aromas, or you can enjoy a small repast outside on the front deck when the Minnesota weather permits.   Whatever your choice, at this cafe &  patisserie, the thrills and fills are found in the food!
