Cyber Monday or Cyber Black Monday
November 25th, 2006 by markdownmomThe ecommerce term Cyber Monday or Cyber Black Monday refers to a spike in online shopping traffic on the Monday after Thanksgiving. On average, this Monday is the first day sales increase dramatically for most e-retailers during the shopping season. Some people mistakenly believe Cyber Monday refers to the day where the largest number of transactions or dollars are spent on online shopping sites. This day, however, falls anywhere from December 5th and December 15th.
It is true, however, many great deals can be found online during this time. Most stores want traffic at this time and they want you to experience a good time on their site and general ordering process. Most sites offer great bargains, rebates or deals. If they get you to their site early enough in the shopping season, they hope you tell your friends of the great buy and ease of use. This generates more sales for the e-retailer.
We have an ever growing directory of stores in our MarkDown Mom: The Bargain Shopping Directory offering the best in online shopping. From eBay to Zappos, we only list Grade A shopping sites for quality and value. Places that will let you live the elegant lifestyle on a budget.
