  • ▪ Celebrity Bling Bling Knock-offs

    March 12th, 2006 by markdownmom

Want to look like a million dollars, or take on the personna of your favorite celebrity? Well, if you want to have that Hollywood Red Carpet presence, here’s a site to get the bling bling:

Inspired Silver. Categories include celebrity inspired jewelry like the Midori On Ice Earrings for $59.95! They also offered some cute gemstone threader earrings for $13.95 in their "vermeil" collection. Now most of this is made out of cz and sterling silver, but for a runway look at an affordable price, this is a good place to shop. Sale selection has bargains that include celebrity knock-offs and men’s jewelry. Another great look on the red carpet were the hair ornaments. These are the perfect additions to a complete ensemble for prom night or a special occasion, without the thousands of dollars price tag:

Liz Claiborne.  In the accessories section under pins, you will find a bronze crystal spray brooch for $25.00 which can be easily used as a hair ornament.
Nordstrom.   Has a large 2 1/2" blossom brooch for $37.90, reg. $128. This is a multicolored brooch which would go with any spring creation.
Adorable Hair Accessories.  Has a wonderful large crystal pearl hair pin.
H Steward Design.  Carries swarovski crystals in unique designs such as the "wild child" for $45
Spiegel.   Clearance jewelry section has some lovely pins for 25% to 45% off retail.
Another excellent source for hair ornaments are the bridal sections of sewing and craft stores.
    You may want to try:
Bridal People. Their large floral spral bridal comb for $38.95 would look adorable for a prom and other occasions. Also the Large snowflake hair pin and round rhinestone are very glitzy.
Headpiece Heavan. Carries a line of hair products that could be used for bridal, prom and other events. MDM particularly liked its crystal hair pin collection. Also, they have a sample sale with up to 60% off.

Hello, I couldn’t find the nordstrom products on their website! Please provide a direct link. Thanks!!!!

Beth, Thanks for the hint.  Since we were in the process of changing the format of the blog, my technical person did not get around to doing the hyperlinks.  You may not find that pin in stock right now, but they do have another.  Like all markdowns, items are very limited  when you get to markdowns over 50% and are quickly bought.  A good hint is that if you do find something you like, but need to wait for any reason, e.g. bigger markdown, put it onto a wish list or record item number because if it is sold out, but comes back into stock later, you may have another shot at it.  See my article on "Sold Out or Is It?"  Thanks for coming to my blog.  Happy Hunting!  Markdown Mom
