  • ▪ Bargain Banter: Dillards, Macys, Sears…

    March 24th, 2006 by markdownmom

This will be a monthly post and if successful, a weekly post, that gives all bargain hunters a chance to exchange bargain hunting gossip, tips, stories, and finds. Starting off, Spring is arriving and the last chance for fall and winter goods is upon us.  It’s time to capture those bargains for next year.

    From the West Coast:

Dillards.  Instore sale.  Our friend  Wily Warren from Las Vegas reports to us that this store is having a 75% off sale and  bargain hunters better pounce before the jobbers buy up the remaining items for sale to Marshalls and Ross. Warren overheard that they are getting merchandise from stores affected by Hurricane Katrina.  These goods are not damaged, NIB, but are still in the inventory from stores that were unable to reopen.

Macys and Sears.   Both these stores are having 50% to 75% off selected merchandise.

Macy’s online clearance has 10%-70% off, the larger the discount, the more limited sizes and selections.  MDM liked Macy’s frang olive tired skirt in the popular mixed fabric boho style, only size left is M, $12.99, reg.$38.  Now is the time to get next  year’s winter coats as most clearance coats and jackets are 50% off or more.

Sears online clearance MDM found a pair of Fawnes textured leather gloves for $2.99/reg. $24.00, a 88% discount.  Give a look at the closeouts that are in your area, too.

HomeGoods. An off-priced home decor and furniture superstore that is usually coupled with T.J.Maxx or Marshalls. They advertise 60% off specialty store and department store prices.  Get placed on their email and you will have a chance to win a $1000 gift certificate plus be informed on instore events and special sales.
