What is going on in the Martha Stewart Empire? First she has celebrity chefs on with their specialty dishes, reminiscent of Julio Inglés famous duos with other celebs. Then she has amateur chefs on with their specialties; amateur only in the sense of name recognition, not product. Crafters teaching Martha. Cupcake Contest. Business alliances with the largest flower retailer 1-800 flowers and even buying merchandising and media business from Emeril. What does all this mean? I mean here is our icon, our “I can do everything and have it all gal,” forming partnerships and using slang? What next?
Stock market reports MSLO is bearish and, at the same time, expanding. And perhaps Martha is making these moves to enlarge her holdings during economic hard times and may be finding market deals. At any rate, Martha is showing more than a change in language. It will be interesting what other surprises she has in store.
